We are committed to a sustainable event and encourage all attendees to use the KVB (Cologne's local transport). Download the KVB App or DB Navigator for real-time schedules and mobile tickets.
Cologne's city centre is a Low Emission Zone (Umweltzone). If you are driving, your car must have a green environmental sticker. Follow the green "Koelnmesse" signs to designated parking areas near Congress-Centrum Ost.
Welcome to the "Cathedral City" on the Rhine. Cologne is famous for its laid-back Rhenish lifestyle, a beer culture unlike anywhere else in the world, and a skyline dominated by the most visited landmark in Germany.
Why not make the most of your trip by experiencing what Cologne has to offer, while balancing your conference schedule? Here is your guide to making the most of your stay.
You can’t miss it—literally. It’s right next to the central station. If you’re feeling active, climb the 533 steps of the South Tower for the best view in the city.
Walk across the famous "Love Lock" bridge. It’s the perfect spot for a photo op with the Cathedral in the background.
Wander through the narrow, colourful alleys of the Martinsviertel. It’s a bit touristy but essential for seeing the historic heart of the city.
In Cologne, beer isn't just a drink; it’s a culture. Kölsch is served in small 0.2L glasses (Stangen). The waiters (Köbes) will keep bringing them until you place your beer mat on top of your glass.
This is the city's creative heart. You’ll find boutique shops, independent galleries, and the best coffee spots around Brüsseler Platz.
The "cool" neighbourhood. Known for street art, industrial-style bars, and a great alternative food scene.
For a modern vibe, walk south along the river to see the "Crane Houses" (Kranhäuser). It’s a sleek, architectural district perfect for a sunset stroll.
